The EndoPilot DownPack handpiece is part of the obturation components offered with the unit.  The DownPack is used primarily to soften gutta percha for creating a dense apical plug in the apical third of the canal.  The main features of the DownPack are outlined below.

speed

The DownPack handpiece is extremely quick at reaching its set temperature.  From activating the foot pedal, to the audible beep and LED flicker that confirms the temperature, takes approximately 2 seconds.

control

The DownPack handpiece is activated and controlled through the one EndoPilot foot pedal for maximum efficiency.  Simplifying the workflow ensures that the DownPack can be used as effectively as possible.  On the handpiece itself you will not find any unnecessary activation buttons or dials - the device simply acts as a tool in your hands.  To set the temperature you simply touch the main EndoPilot screen.  Touch.  Activate.  Use.  The user is in complete control at all times, just as it should be.

ergonomics

The DownPack handpiece is designed to be as ergonomically appropriate as possible.  The three key elements to the DownPack handpiece are its weight, size and balance.  All three of these very important needs have been factored into the manufacturing process to produce a device that's light, slim and very well balanced.

range

The DownPack handpiece can be set from a minimum temperature of 100 degrees to a maximum temperature of 350 degrees to cover all possible needs.  Heating is quick and constant and as an added safety feature will automatically shut off after 40 seconds - using the foot pedal immediately reactivates the handpiece of course.  There are 5 heating tip sizes: XF, F, FM, M and ML - easily interchangeable with a twist lock.
